There is no neutral ground in the universe. Every square inch, every split second is claimed by God, and counterclaimed by Satan.

  1. I was reading on that today. I can't paste the link for whatever reason. Look up patheos.com and roger e olson and his post today on John piper and tornadoes. Good commentary!

  2. I don't read these the same. Lewis said:

There is no neutral ground in the universe. Every square inch, every split second is claimed by God, and counterclaimed by Satan.

    Olson has Sproul saying:

there is no maverick molecule in the universe, that God controls every thought and twist and turn of every molecule in the universe.

The latter is determinism, with which I have some qualms. The former just says that God has claims on everything, desiring everything voluntarily respond to his love; it doesn't argue for determinism. Lewis was more Arminian than Calvinist in his writing.
