Christianity, and nothing else, is the ultimate foundation of liberty, conscience, human rights, and democracy, the benchmarks of Western civilization. To this we have no other options. We continue to nourish ourselves from this source. Everything else is postmodern chatter.

    Plus you seem to forget that it was the Christian West that gave the entire world World Wars I & II.

    Meanwhile peace-loving christian America accounts for nearly 50% of the worlds armanents trade. It also has over 700 foreign military bases, which are there to protect USA strategic interests.

    When a site titles itself jesusneverexisted you know it's giving you the straight dope dontcha?

    So on one hand we have a famed philosopher, who is also an atheist acknowledging that Christianity was foundational to every high moral principle in the West.

    On the other we have some internet atheist crackpots.

    Perhaps you've forgotten that World Wars I and II were secular wars fought with secular motivations.

    Also, I don't see Jürgen claiming that Christians were peace loving, only that they provided a moral framework that regarded peace as desirable.
